What is Micro-TESE?
Micro-TESE (microdissection testicular sperm extraction) is a microsurgical method used especially in non-obstructive azoospermia to look for limited areas of sperm production inside the testis. Under an operating microscope, wider and more opaque seminiferous tubules are selected and sperm is sought in the laboratory. Micro-TESE does not create new sperm; it aims to retrieve sperm from small production foci that may already be present. If suitable sperm is found, it can be used for ICSI or frozen.
Ancak sperm bulunması garanti değildir. İşlem öncesinde azospermi tanısı doğrulanmalı; hormonlar, genetik testler ve altta yatan nedenler değerlendirilmelidir. Gebelik ve canlı doğum olasılığı yalnız sperm bulunmasına değil, kadın partnerin yaşı, yumurta ve embriyo özelliklerine de bağlıdır.
